Anm. 2. Korrektur zum gedruckten GW: Kollation geändert: letzte Lage […f⁸], ursprünglicher Umfang 50 Bl., im Ex. Cambridge fehlen Bl. f1 u. f8. Vgl. Oates sowie Mitteilung von Laura Nuvoloni (Cambridge), 2.XI.2010: “I checked the text of GW 6864 here in CUL against GW 6863 in Manchester, and indeed I think that CUL is missing only two leaves at the end, i.e.
[f1] and [f8]. Therefore the book originally comprised 50 leaves and its collation was as follows: [a¹⁰ b–f⁸]. … The … setting of the text changes in the last quire of GW 6864: first of all the layout changes from 26 lines to the page to 27 lines to the page. Moreover, up to the end of quire [e] the setting of the individual lines followed that of GW 6863, with each line containing the same text in the 2 editions even though sometimes differently abbreviated, whereas from quire [f] the text of GW 6864 becomes more compressed to fit more words in each line, as if the printer was worried that the text would not fit in the pre-established 8-leaf quire. The missing last leaf of GW 6864 contained the equivalent of the last 33 lines in GW 6863, i.e. of the last 3 lines of the letter to C. Cesar Imperator to Cicero, inc. ‘[C]Vum furniu[m] nostru[m] tame[n] uidissem’ starting from ‘[ad propo//]situm revertar’, the caption and the entire text of the following letter from C. Cesar to Appius [i.e. Oppius] Cornelius, and the colophon, which in GW 6863 is on the recto of the last leaf and takes up 2 lines: ‘Marci. T.C. familiares Epistole // feliciter Expliciunt’. Counting the lines for the gaps between the letters, the captions and the colophon, I think that in GW 6864 the last lines of the text and the colophon were on the verso of the last leaf [f8].”
